Infrared saunas are small cabins containing heaters which produce radiant energy, in much the same way as the sun, only without harmful ultraviolet rays. Unlike traditional saunas which heat the body indirectly via air or steam, infrared heat is absorbed directly into the body through the skin to encourage perspiration, producing many of the same health benefits of traditional steam saunas.
